She'll answer all your questions so you'll be completely prepared, I promise.

I think this would also be a great question for ladies that have already gone through this. Why don't you post the question in our FB community? www.facebook.com/PRMAplasticsurgery

Best,

Dr CDr Chrysopoulohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09997615213285498559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4312016866602625109.post-49670081115806256062011-03-08T11:13:13.886-06:002011-03-08T11:13:13.886-06:00Dr C - I'm having this surgery with Dr Lenoux ...Dr C - I'm having this surgery with Dr Lenoux (sp) in May. I would like to know what I need to wear after the surgery? I live far away so I can't exactly run home and get anything. Since my stomach AND my chest will be involved, what should I expect? Thank you,
Doreen BalvinAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4312016866602625109.post-8553608712145361522011-03-07T20:33:20.347-06:002011-03-07T20:33:20.347-06:00Absolutely. Once you choose the right team, learning exactly what to expect in terms of the surgery, post-op care, recovery and long-term follow-up are definitely very important!

Here are some other DIEP flap FAQs:
http://www.prma-enhance.com/index.cfm/PageID/1829

In terms of what is appropriate follow-up care for BRCA2 patients.... that's a great question. There is no specific guideline. I agree with you though. At least SOME follow-up is preferable. Yearly seems appropriate in my opinion.

Dr CDr Chrysopoulohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09997615213285498559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4312016866602625109.post-68107357414415072462011-03-07T10:12:45.799-06:002011-03-07T10:12:45.799-06:00Dr. C - I think another great question to ask is w...Dr. C - I think another great question to ask is what type of checkups can be done post op. I had TRAM 5 years ago and was told I could no longer have a mammogram and to only do self-breast exams and if something was different to call my Dr. Being BRCA2 positive, no yearly exams seems very risky, even after prophylactic bilateral mastectomy.
